Here is my suggestion Route 1:Go to karils with full prayer, use magic dart to kill him, then once dont with him go to ahrims with leftover prayer, use 1 dose max. Then go to guthans and use 1 dose, should be easy with magic dart, dont redose, it will just be a waste. Then go to Dharoks and use 2 doses, use the third if needed in battle. If you wasted all your prayer on dharok then use one dose and go to verac.
Dont redose it will be a waste. One you beat him go to thorag and kill him using one dose. Then make way through maze and open chest and teleport out. Route 2: If Karil is your tunnel then go to dharok to use your full prayer, then repeat my course. If you go through and you get to your tunnel just go to the next one and continue. Not trying to steal your guide just tryin to make it more helpful, you dont have to take my advise im just saying it will make it more helpfull.

Ok, so i have never done Barrows before and i read that the Slayer Dart was very effective so i got my slayer up to 55 today and am getting myself ready for my first ever barrows run, however runescape wikia said that if im using magic then wear my best magic gear, but im not sure if it is going to be enough do you think the following equipment will be ok along with my stats?
I personally prefer meleeing the brothers, Veracs is nice for meleeing, should get reqs, they are totally worth it. If you plan to mage, best bet is to use Black Salamander since its cheaper and more effective way to mage at Barrows. Good luck with drops. I used slayer dart with melee gear. It is still really effective even without the mage gear. Pray on dharok, kharil and ahrim. Use full veracs with either slayer dart or black sally.
You don't need mage armour since the brothers are weak to magic. But you do need to bring a melee weapon for ahrim and karil since they're strong against magic. I suggest veracs because it has a decent prayer bonus, and near same def as torags, etc. The reason it seems that way are as follows this is directed at you Poke with your last post. All the barrows brothers except Ahrim have a magic level of 1. Equipment the rest.
That is why you can hit Karil with ease even with his armor. That is why even when wearing metal armor it is accurate, the melee brothers aren't helped by magic defense penalties either. The reason for using it here is convenience. Done right you can last a long time at barrows without needing to get more elemental runes.
I have personally never used slayer dart at barrows, nor any other magic based attack. Since money is not a huge issue, I bring my regular set-up which includes godsword, tassys, etc. Basically, I profit fully on all the runes I gain. I only use guthans to heal so paying for the repairs is once in a blue moon.
Slayer Dart might be affected by armor, but even at my 78 mage wearing full rune, I hit 17's often enough. I'd rather just use Slayer Dart because you get some of the runes back from chest. It's easy, often used, hits enough, and does well. Why should I change to another method just because it might be a little bit cheaper.
I am thoroughly against having to change methods just because it hits the same. Slayer Dart is good enough for me. As I stated in my previous post about why people think slayer dart alone hits well.
Thing is it does not matter what magic you use here, its just that the dart is more convenient and can be cheaper to use in the long run. Done right you can last a long time at barrows without needing to get more runes. Hmm; in total, i got about 1.
But in total; fire wave really is more profitable. Would somebody hit me if I said I used Slayer Dart because the animation looked nicer? The point of barrows isn't training mate. It's money that's the key. Blood runes are harder to buy anyway. But you are right, it is affected by your magic bonus. You're missing the point that people are trying to make here. Unless you're using Air Wave, with an Air Staff, you'll have to keep buying elemental runes fairly often just to keep going.
With Slayer Dart, you can buy Deaths, Minds, and keep Barrowing for a long time, because the rewards will land you with more Deaths and Minds than you start with at least this is true in my experience. And if you're arguing from a training standpoint, that Fire Wave is better simply because it gives more experience, then you should reconsider your training methods.
Experience is more of a byproduct when it comes to Barrows. By using this site, you agree to our Guidelines and Privacy Policy.
